The heart of High Water

You don’t have to carry it alone.

High Water is a place to slow down, feel seen, and reconnect with yourself without having to arrive with everything figured out.

A NOTE FROM EBONY · THE NAME BEHIND THE WORK

Why High Water?

You may have heard “come hell or high water”: no matter what, somehow, some way. High Water carries that hope. Even when life feels overwhelming, a way forward can begin with support and one small step.

The name is also rooted in my faith. In the Bible, God uses water in stories of freedom and renewal: a path through the sea, a new beginning in baptism, and the “living water” Jesus describes as spiritual life. To me, these images speak to transformation and the possibility that the past does not have to be the end of the story.

My hope is to be a vessel of God’s compassion: to listen with humility, make room for your experience, and walk alongside you as you find your own voice.

You don’t have to have an established relationship with God to belong here. Your beliefs, pace, and choices will guide our work together. When you request it, we’ll integrate faith into the work we do.

OUR MISSION

Build safety through permission.

We create space to understand your inner world at your pace, in your voice, and in a way that feels true to you.

Our work supports you in navigating emotions, easing self-judgment, and building the self-trust to choose your next step.

OUR VISION

Connected care. Lasting restoration.

We envision care that connects emotional well-being with the practical support people need in everyday life.

Our hopes for High Water include resources, education, mentorship for future clinicians, and partnerships with schools and community organizations, supporting healthier families and stronger communities.

OUR VALUES

Three pillars. One commitment to care.

Our values shape how we show up, how we walk alongside you, and how the work connects to your everyday life.

PILLAR I

Safety & self-trust

Safety first. Room to feel seen, heard, and understood without judgment or pressure.

Honoring protective responses. We respect the patterns that developed to help you get through.

Awareness creates choice. Understanding your patterns can help you respond with intention.

PILLAR II

A partnership with you

Collaboration over control. You are the expert of your own life. We guide and support your process.

Authentic connection. Warmth, honesty, and genuine care are part of how we work together.

PILLAR III

Care for the whole person

We consider how your emotional well-being connects with your relationships, circumstances, and everyday needs.

Growth that translates to real life. We connect reflection with practical steps and resources that support stability and direction.

Generational impact. We support breaking cycles and building healthier patterns for you and those who come after you.
